We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Support Worker to join our Mental Health team at HMP Winchester, a category B Prison located in Winchester

HMP Winchester is a busy male remand prison based in Winchester with a capacity for 650 inmates. There is free parking on site and close to the town centre. We are welcoming applications from candidates that have experience within healthcare and have a willingness to learn and want to pursue a career within Mental Health.

Hours

Monday - Friday

0800 - 1600

Salary

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £30,684 per annum.

What you'll be doing

As a Mental Health Support Worker, your responsibilities will vary. You will

Provide a holistic and individualised approach to care and improve the lives of people with mental ill health by minimising the impact of their condition through the delivery of excellent services and promoting recovery. You will provide evidence based interventions within the Practice Plus Group health care wellbeing model.
Deliver triage of patients and using decision support systems, refer for a GP or Nurse Consultation as
necessary.
