Ready to revolutionize healthcare, making it faster and more accessible than ever before?
How we started:
Founded in 2013 by Dwayne D'Souza, HeliosX was built on a simple but powerful idea: healthcare should be easier to access, faster to receive, and centred around the individual. From day one, we've grown without external funding; scaling profitably through technology, disciplined execution, and deep medical expertise. What started as a challenger idea has become one of the most significant healthcare platforms operating globally today.
Where we are now:
We've earned the trust of millions of people worldwide through category-leading products and well-known brands, including MedExpress, Dermatica, ZipHealth, RocketRX, and Levity. A key driver of our success is vertical integration; we operate our own manufacturing and proprietary products, led by in-house medical teams, researchers, and pharmacists at the top of their fields.
In 2025, HeliosX treated more than 1.7 million patients globally and reached £781m in revenue, representing +337% year-on-year growth and cementing our position as the clear market leader in the UK. That growth translates into real-world outcomes: our weight-loss treatments helped patients lose 8.5 million kilograms of excess weight in 2025 alone, contributing to an estimated 1,300 fewer cardiac events. This is growth with measurable, life-changing impact at scale.
Today, we operate across four international markets, with successful launches in Germany and Canada and continued expansion in the US. We were also recently recognised in the Sunday Times Top 100 fastest-growing tech companies, further validation of both our momentum and our ambition.
Where we're going:
2026 is another significant year for HeliosX. Our ambition is to surpass £1.1bn in revenue, continue expanding thoughtfully into new international markets and broaden our condition and treatment portfolio. As we scale, we're focused on building the technology, operational excellence and clinical capabilities that will support sustainable long-term growth. Joining HeliosX now means helping shape the systems, teams and products that will define the next chapter of digital healthcare. You'll be solving complex problems at pace, working alongside exceptional people and building products that genuinely improve lives at scale.
There's never been a more exciting time to join HeliosX. Come be a part of making our dream of easier and faster healthcare a reality!
We're looking for an exceptional Senior Compounding Pharmacist to lead our sterile and non-sterile operations within the Lab in Leamington Spa. This is a rare opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation dedicated to delivering high-quality, treatments while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety, regulatory compliance, and pharmaceutical excellence.
As our Senior Compounding Pharmacist, you will take ownership of the safe, compliant, and efficient compounding of treatments across both sterile and non-sterile operations. You'll be at the heart of our compounding facility, ensuring every preparation meets rigorous GPhC standards and aligns with MHRA, EMA, ICH, and ISO guidance.
This role is far more than a traditional pharmacy position. You'll combine hands-on pharmacist leadership within our Lab environment with day-to-day production and laboratory management, driving operational excellence across the entire compounding process.
This role is based at our Leamington Spa Hub within the Laboratory, working Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.
What you'll be doing:
Compounding & Clinical Oversight
- Oversee sterile and non-sterile compounding processes, including preparation, dispensing, and labelling of compounded medications.
- Lead sterile compounding operations, ensuring cleanroom protocols, sanitation, daily logs, calibration, and hazardous waste disposal are properly maintained.
- Conduct and document product/batch verification and quality assurance checks to safeguard safety, efficacy, and sterility.
- Develop, implement, and continually update SOPs for sterile and non-sterile compounding.
- Collaborate with the care team to support safe, effective treatment, counselling patients and answering inquiries as needed.
- Document and report medication errors, near-misses, or patient concerns, driving continuous quality improvement (CQI).
- Provide global support by collaborating with HeliosX's international compounding teams (including the US) on formulation updates and stability studies.
Production & Lab Management
- Create weekly production plans, assign compounding tasks to technicians, and manage scheduling across multiple compounding areas to meet manufacturing demand.
- Report key production metrics, costs, and quality data to wider operational teams.
- Manage all lab equipment and plant, scheduling preventive maintenance, break-fix response, and contingency planning for single points of failure.
- Manage compounding consumables and related inventory, minimising holding costs while avoiding stock-outs.
- Carry out root cause analyses of process failures and product write-offs, and lead related investigations.
- Interrogate new processes and technical transfers for flaws, ensuring methods can be replicated reliably at scale.
- Own documentation and change control systems, tracking reviews, approvals, and revisions.
People Management & Compliance
- Train, supervise and support all lab staff in compounding technique, compliance, and best practice.
- Line manage the compounding/manufacturing team, capturing individual performance metrics and delivering feedback, development, and improvement plans.
- Act as hiring manager for new team members and manage agency staff as needed.
- Maintain an ongoing training and competency programme, including assessments to score staff performance.
- Ensure the correct pharmacist-to-technician ratio and a positive, efficient workflow.
- Champion housekeeping standards and drive adherence to cGMP.
- Oversee compliance with GPhC standards and relevant guidance from MHRA, EMA, ICH, and ISO across sterile and non-sterile compounding.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections, building and improving auditing tools to monitor process adherence.
- Prepare for and participate in regulatory inspections, ensuring full readiness and compliance.
- Monitor and report on temperature testing and other quality controls across compounding operations.
- Escalate operational or dispatch issues promptly to the central operations team.
What you'll bring:
Experience:
- Active GPhC registration as a Pharmacist (required).
- Minimum 2 years' experience in sterile compounding; non-sterile compounding experience preferred.
- Previous supervisory or line management experience in a compounding or pharmaceutical manufacturing setting.
- Experience in the formulation and compounding of complex sterile and non-sterile preparations.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical compounding quality standards, including Medicines Act 1968 (Section 10 exemptions), MHRA guidance on "Specials" and relevant GPhC regulatory frameworks.
- Experience in pharmaceutical formulation.
Skills:
- Experience managing production planning, equipment, and inventory in a lab or manufacturing environment.
- Detail-oriented, with robust quality control, documentation, and root-cause analysis practices.
- Skilled in personnel management, with strong leadership, training, and performance development capabilities.
- Proven ability to maintain regulatory compliance and manage inspections/audits.
- Effective communicator, able to counsel patients and collaborate with the integrated care team.
- Strong problem-solving aptitude and a proactive approach to continuous quality improvement (CQI).
