Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Golf Shop Attendant to join our team. This position is for 2 shifts, Tuesday and Saturday afternoon /closing shift at the moment with hours varying from 5 hours per shift in the winter months to 7 hours per shift in the Summer months. Immediate start if successful with a probationary period of 3 months.
There will be plenty opportunity to cover shifts if needed.The ideal candidate will have a passion for golf and excellent customer service skills, ensuring that every guest has a memorable experience at our facility. As a Golf Shop Attendant, you will be responsible for assisting customers with their needs, managing shop inventory, and maintaining an inviting atmosphere to the Golf Centre.
Successful candidate must be punctual, trustworthy, reliable and work well in a small team. Well presented with good customer skills. Responsible and capable of working independently with lock up procedures etc.
Duties
- Greet and assist customers in the golf shop/ centre with a warm and welcoming attitude.
- Provide information about merchandise, including golf equipment, apparel, and accessories.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale system.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the shop/ centre ensuring that displays are attractive and well-stocked.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving shipments and conducting stock checks.
- Promote special offers and events to enhance customer engagement.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints in a professional manner.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure smooth operations within the shop/ centre.
- Communicate effectively with both customers and other members of staff.
- This is a manual job which will require other tasks such as collecting range balls etc and general day to day duties required at the golf centre.
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail or customer service is preferred but not essential.
- Strong communication skills.
- A passion for golf and knowledge of golf equipment is an advantage.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work well in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- A friendly demeanour with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
- Must be 18+ as we serve alcohol.
