About us

The Cancer Research UK & UCL Cancer Trials Centre (CTC) is part of the Cancer Institute at University College London.

The CTC is responsible for the development and conduct of clinical trials to evaluate new approaches to the treatment of cancer and is a UKCRC Registered Clinical Trials Unit. The CTC has a portfolio which includes multicentre phase III trials using survival, tumour response and quality of life as endpoints. The portfolio also encompasses phase I and II, some with biological endpoints, and there is an interest in screening studies within the organisation. CTC staff collaborate with clinicians and research staff in the UK and abroad.

The CTC Director is Allan Hackshaw, Professor of Epidemiology &; Medical Statistics at UCL. The CTC is based in central London, and offers a great working environment, in terms of both the people and the location.

About the role

We have a vacancy for a Trial Manager (Trial Coordinator) who will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and data management of multiple trials.

Supported by a Senior Project Manager (Senior Trial Coordinator), the postholder will ensure the efficient and safe management of these trials with adherence to the study protocols, current regulatory requirements and UK legislation. A crucial aspect of this will be close liaison with participating institutions.

The CTC offers hybrid working for all staff, with a minimum of 60% FTE office attendance required for this post (3 days per week for full time staff), along with many other benefits. All staff are provided with excellent training opportunities, and the CTC team actively encourages ongoing personal development and learning.

About you

The successful applicant must have experience in clinical trials, gained within a Clinical Trials Unit, or in health-related research. They must also demonstrate a good understanding of clinical trial methodology, current regulatory requirements governing clinical trials, and a high-level knowledge of biomedical sciences.

The successful applicant will also have excellent organisational, numeracy and communication skills. Experience of Microsoft Office applications and databases is essential, along with experience of writing reports in both lay and scientific language.
