Job Overview

The Intermediate Water Hygiene Engineer is responsible for carrying out a range of water hygiene and water treatment tasks to ensure compliance with current legislation, industry standards and company procedures. The role involves working independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality services to clients across commercial, industrial, healthcare and residential properties.

The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate a good understanding of water hygiene compliance, Legionella control measures and remedial works, whilst maintaining excellent standards of health and safety, customer service and technical competency.

Key Requirements

Minimum 2 years' experience within the water hygiene industry.
Good knowledge of ACOP L8, HSG274 and relevant industry guidance.
Experience carrying out routine water hygiene monitoring and compliance tasks.
Full UK driving licence.
Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
Good communication and report-writing skills.
Professional and customer-focused approach.
Understanding of health and safety requirements within the industry.
Flexibility to travel and work across multiple sites.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Temperature monitoring and water hygiene inspections.
Hot and cold-water system monitoring.
Showerhead and hose descaling and disinfection.
Water tank inspections and condition reporting.
Chlorination and disinfection works.
Closed system testing and sampling.
Water sampling and on-site analysis where required.
TMV inspection, servicing and maintenance.
Flushing of little-used outlets.
Legionella compliance monitoring in accordance with ACOP L8 and HSG274.
Completion of site documentation, service reports and risk assessment findings.
Identification and reporting of system deficiencies and remedial requirements.
Liaising with clients and site representatives in a professional manner.
Ensuring all works are completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.
Assisting senior engineers and risk assessors when required.
Supporting remedial works and project activities as required.

Desirable Qualifications

City & Guilds Water Hygiene Qualification or equivalent.
Legionella Awareness Training.
TMV Servicing Qualification.
Confined Space Training.
First Aid at Work.
CSCS Card (where applicable).

Performance Expectations

Deliver works to a high technical standard.
Maintain excellent levels of client satisfaction.
Ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
Demonstrate reliability, professionalism and a proactive approach to work.
Contribute positively to the development and growth of the business.

Pay: £32,000.00 per year
