Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Fish Fryer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking fish and chips in a fast-paced environment, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about food preparation and wanting to develop their skills within a professional kitchen setting. The Fish Fryer will play a vital role in delivering delicious meals to our customers while maintaining efficient kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

Prepare fresh fish and related ingredients according to specified recipes and standards
Cook fish consistently, ensuring proper seasoning, presentation, and quality control
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the cooking area, including sanitising equipment and surfaces
Follow food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
Assist with meal preparation for service periods, supporting other kitchen staff as needed
Monitor stock levels of ingredients and notify management when supplies need replenishing
Ensure all food is cooked to the correct temperature and served promptly to maintain freshness
Adhere to health and safety guidelines to prevent accidents or contamination in the kitchen

Skills

Proven experience in food preparation and cooking, preferably within a restaurant or catering environment
Strong knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service times
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in meal presentation and portion control
Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members
Familiarity with kitchen equipment used for frying, grilling, and plating fish dishes
A passion for culinary arts with a focus on delivering high-quality meals to customers

This post offers a rate of pay above national minimum wage for the applicants who are enthusiastic about food, dedicated to safety standards, and committed to providing excellent service.

Please only apply if you have experience in a high paced kitchen. You will be working long hours but you will have 7 days off in a two week period.

Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour
