Cleaner Safer Group is a not-for-profit organisation at the heart of the UK’s cleaner, safer solid fuel and building performance sectors. Through our brands, you’ll help support installers, retailers, manufacturers and consumers, raising standards, improving safety and contributing to the transition to cleaner energy.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Laboratory Testing and Administration Assistant to join our supportive and close-knit team on a fulltime basis. You will play a key role in supporting the testing of wood fuel for our client Woodsure and their registration schemes, helping to deliver an excellent service to our client and businesses within the wood fuel industries.
About the role
As our Laboratory Testing and Administration Assistant, you will be:
- Co-ordinating the schedule for laboratory testing
- Preparing samples and undertake timed testing of wood fuel for all clients
- Producing accurate recordings of outcomes
- Preparing and complete relevant testing paperwork/forms/spreadsheets
- Supporting others internally and externally in delivering the aims of the laboratory
- Prioritising workload to meet client targets and internal KPIs
- Effectively utilise the database CRM and Microsoft Office software packages including word, basic excel, outlook and other software
- Able to work to a predefined criteria of laboratory procedures and provide relevant feedback.
- Querying test reports with other staff members and follow up with feedback if necessary

- Be enthusiastic and have ability to develop an understanding of technical standards, requirements and testing protocols.

- Enjoy providing outstanding customer service to a wide variety of stakeholders
- Communicate confidently and professionally
- Work well both independently and as part of a team
- Be comfortable using Microsoft Office and has a willingness to learn our bespoke CRM
- Have experience of working in an accredited laboratory although this is not essential.
