Hours: 10:00am–3:00pm, Monday to Friday

About the Role

Footprint Group is looking for an experienced Part-Time Graphic Designer to join our team in Swindon.

This role is primarily focused on print, signage, vehicle graphics and large-format production. Strong practical knowledge of preparing artwork for print is essential, and this is more important to us than purely digital design experience.

You’ll be working across vehicle liveries, signage, window graphics, banners and other printed materials, taking jobs from initial brief through to accurate, production-ready artwork.

There will also be some work involving social media, email and websites, but the main focus of the role is print and large-format graphics.

Key Responsibilities

Design vehicle graphics, liveries and wraps
Create artwork for signage, banners, window graphics, hoardings and other large-format applications
Prepare artwork correctly for large-format print and production
Set up files with the correct sizes, bleed, colour profiles, resolution, cut paths and production specifications
Work accurately from vehicle templates, measurements and customer specifications
Check and amend supplied customer artwork so it is suitable for print
Create and manage vector artwork
Liaise with the production and installation teams to make sure artwork is practical and ready for manufacture
Produce proofs and make customer amendments
Manage multiple live jobs and deadlines
Occasionally create artwork for social media, email marketing and websites

Essential Experience & Skills

Previous experience working in graphic design for print
Strong large-format print knowledge
Experience producing artwork for signage and/or vehicle graphics
Excellent understanding of print-ready artwork setup
Good knowledge of CMYK, spot colours, bleed, resolution, scaling and vector artwork
Experience creating cut paths and production files
Confident using Adobe Illustrator
Good working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop
Comfortable working with large-scale artwork and technical measurements
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Able to understand how a design will be printed, cut, manufactured and installed
Able to work independently and manage a busy workload

Particularly Relevant Experience

We would especially like to hear from candidates who have previously worked in:

Sign making
Large-format printing
Vehicle graphics or wrapping
Exhibition graphics
Display graphics
Wide-format print production

Previous experience in a signage or large-format print environment would be a major advantage.

Digital Design

Some digital work will form part of the role, including social media graphics, email marketing and website content.

However, digital design experience is secondary. Our priority is finding someone with strong practical print knowledge who understands the requirements of producing accurate artwork for signage, vehicles and large-format print.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday
10:00am – 3:00pm

Approximately 25 hours per week.

This is a part-time role based at Footprint Group in Swindon.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who understands that designing for print is about more than making something look good on screen.

You should be comfortable thinking about scale, materials, colour, cutting, fitting and production requirements, and be able to create artwork that works properly when it reaches the print and production teams.

The ideal person will have worked within the signage, vehicle graphics or large-format print industry and will be able to hit the ground running.

Pay: £15.00 per hour
