About us
The National Disability & Carers Card Scheme is a social enterprise, founded in 2019 by carers, on a mission to make everyday life and access easier for disabled people and those who care for them. Our cards give more than 250,000 disabled people and carers a simple, secure way to identify themselves and get the recognition, assistance and discounts they need, without repeatedly explaining their disability or caring role.
We're a small, fast-moving team of around 20 people based in Suffolk. Accessible recruitment is something we take seriously and practise.
We have ambitious growth targets and a proven marketing engine to build on.
The role
We're looking for a Senior Marketing Manager to take day-to-day ownership of our marketing engine and drive growth in card applications.
You'll inherit a working machine with proven marketing channels, and your job is to refine it, expand it, and keep it efficient as we scale. This is a hands-on senior role: you'll run the channels, own the numbers, manage our agencies, and lead one junior marketer, while reporting to our Director of Marketing.
It's a role for a commercially minded operator who's as comfortable writing the email and briefing the landing page as they are holding a cost-per-application target and deciding what to test next.
Key details
- Reports to: Director of Marketing
- Direct reports: 1, plus management of 4-5 agency relationships
- Location: Woodbridge, Suffolk (office-based)
- Hours: Full-time, permanent
- Budget: c. £200,000 annual media/creative budget, plus oversight of agencies with their own budgets (both expected to grow as targets grow)
- Salary: £50,000–£62,000 depending on experience
What you'll own
Growth and channels
- Drive growth in applications for the National Disability Card and National Carers Card across our proven channels, hitting the application targets set for each period.
- Run a structured testing and experimentation programme: optimising existing channels and landing pages, and proving new ones.
- Own execution and optimisation across ads, TV, influencers and creative, and manage the agencies delivering them, keeping spend efficient against agreed cost-per-application / ROAS targets.
Email and lifecycle
- Own email end to end: newsletters (copywriting, audience selection, image sourcing), automations, and audience segmentation.
- Own the lifecycle programme: renewals, reactivation and referrals.
Website and conversion
- Manage the website and landing pages: copywriting, image sourcing, and briefing developers and designers.
- Own funnel and checkout conversion, reducing application drop-off to get more from existing traffic.
Content and SEO
- Oversee blog content, including proofreading, copywriting, image sourcing and integrating SEO recommendations, delegating production to the Marketing Executive where appropriate.
Measurement
- Own marketing measurement operationally: reliable tracking, dashboards, and clear reporting of performance against KPIs to the Director of Marketing.
Accessibility
- Ensure marketing assets meet accessibility standards (including captioned video, image alt texts) and that messaging about disability and caregiving is accurate and respectful.
App engagement
- Own the app lifecycle and engagement strategy (in-app messaging, push, adoption campaigns).
People and partners
- Line-manage and develop the Marketing Executive.
- Act as the operational point of contact for agencies and freelancers.
