We are now seeking a passionate, people-focused Shop Manager to take the reins at our Haslemere location and lead the launch team to success.
The Role
As Shop Manager, you will take total ownership of daily site operations across both front-of-house service and kitchen prep areas. Supported directly by our Group Sales Manager alongside dedicated Team and Kitchen Trainers, you will lead from the front to deliver exceptional customer experiences and hit commercial sales targets.
- Hands-on Operational Leadership: Oversee daily counter service, display presentation, product quality control, and kitchen output, maintaining flawless hygiene and food safety standards.
- Team Development & Culture: Motivate, train, and mentor your front-of-house and kitchen teams, fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-energy working environment.
- Commercial Performance: Work alongside the Group Sales Manager to drive daily sales, manage labor ratios, minimize food waste, and hit monthly commercial targets.
- Customer Excellence: Act as the face of Loaf on West Street, building strong relationships with local Haslemere residents and ensuring every customer receives warm, authentic service.
- Inventory & Compliance: Manage stock ordering, health and safety documentation, opening/closing procedures, and cash management routines efficiently.
What We Are Looking For
- Management Track Record: Minimum of 2 years of active management experience in hospitality, retail, food-to-go, or an artisan bakery environment.
- Leadership Style: A people-focused, proactive leader who stays calm, organized, and positive in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Sales Focus: Proven experience in achieving sales targets, managing wastage, and driving retail performance metrics.
- Work Ethic: A hands-on approach—you are happy to jump behind the espresso machine, serve customers, or help in the kitchen during peak rushes.
- Passion: A genuine passion for high-quality artisan food, great coffee, and building exceptional team cultures.
