We are looking for a Sales Coordinator to develop customer enquiries into commercial opportunities across our Radiography Division, comprising Gilligan Engineering Services, NDT Electronic Services and Metrix NDT. North East based, primarily Jarrow and Prudhoe with occasional UK wide travel to customer sites when required.
This is not a purely administrative or reactive sales support role. You will make regular outbound contact with existing, lapsed and prospective customers, follow up quotations consistently and actively identify opportunities for additional products and services. You do not need to arrive as a technical expert. Appropriate product and service training will be provided, and technical knowledge will be developed and supported over time.
You will act as the connective link between customers and our internal sales, engineering and operations teams, making sure requirements are accurately captured, passed to the right people and moved forward without delay. The role would suit someone from a coordination, sales support, internal sales, account support or commercial administration background who is commercially confident and comfortable making proactive customer calls.
What you will be doing
- Proactively contacting existing, lapsed and prospective customers to understand their requirements and identify where our products or services may help, obtaining technical input where required
- Owning customer enquiries from initial contact through quotation, follow up, order placement and confirmed handover to the delivery team
- Working with internal technical colleagues to help customers understand available product, service, repair, calibration, hire or support options
- Identifying opportunities for additional support, repeat business or wider Group services relevant to the customer's needs
- Coordinating quotations and customer proposals with engineering, sales and operations to ensure responses are accurate, commercially sound and issued on time
- Maintaining accurate and up to date commercial records, giving full visibility of pipeline, activity and order status
- Actively managing coordination between sales, engineering and operations so customer requirements are understood and progressed without unnecessary delay
- Preparing and publishing approved LinkedIn posts and supporting the Division's routine marketing activity in line with the agreed content plan
- Gathering and analysing commercial and operational data to support reporting, performance tracking and decision making
- Assisting in planning and coordinating exhibitions, events and marketing activities, including logistics, materials and follow up actions
What we are looking for
- Experience in a coordination, sales support, internal sales, account support, commercial administration or project coordination role
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines and priorities in a busy environment
- Confident written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with customers by telephone, email and in person
- Experience handling documentation with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to follow established processes while identifying and resolving issues independently
- Commercial awareness with an interest in technical or engineering based products and services
- Confidence to make proactive outbound calls, re-engage lapsed customers and develop enquiries into commercial opportunities without prompting
- IT competent, including regular use of Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams)
- Ability to pass security clearance and vetting requirements
Desirable
- Experience preparing or supporting quotations, tenders or customer proposals
- Experience working in an engineering, manufacturing, hire, service, calibration, industrial supplies or technical environment
- Exposure to CRM systems and pipeline tracking
- Exposure to marketing activity such as LinkedIn, email campaigns or events
What you will get
- £28,000 to £32,000 depending on experience
- 24 days holiday plus bank holidays
- Some hybrid working may be available subject to business needs (max one day per week)

Pay: £28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
