Job Summary
We are currently seeking an In Vivo Scientist to join our in vivo pharmacology team at our Hatfield facility. This is a Permanent position, ideal for candidates with immediate availability. Applicants must hold a Home Office Personal Licence (PIL AB) under the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, execute, and analyse preclinical in vivo studies in line with client protocols and regulatory standards
- Perform a range of in vivo techniques, including dosing (oral, IV, SC, IP), sampling, and surgical procedures
- Comply with all Home Office regulations and contribute to high standards of animal welfare
- Maintain accurate study records, including animal welfare logs and experimental data
- Deliver high-quality data to Study Directors and contribute to technical reports
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient study delivery
- Support facility operations including husbandry, equipment maintenance, and welfare monitoring
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- A BSc, MSc or PhD in Pharmacology, Biology or a related life sciences discipline
- A valid Home Office Personal Licence (PIL AB) is essential
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in in vivo pharmacology, including dosing and tissue collection
- Solid understanding of animal welfare requirements and ASPA regulations
- High level of attention to detail and accurate record keeping
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
