We are urgently seeking an experienced, detail-oriented and customer-focused Vehicle Damage Assessor to join our team, with an immediate start available.
Applicants must have a minimum of three years’ experience in vehicle damage assessment, automotive estimating, bodyshop operations or a closely related role.
The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting damaged vehicles, assessing the extent of repairs required and preparing accurate repair estimates. You will communicate with customers, insurance companies and repair teams to ensure that each vehicle progresses through the repair process efficiently.
The ideal candidate will have strong automotive knowledge, excellent attention to detail and the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of damaged vehicles.
- Assess the extent of damage and determine the repairs required.
- Prepare accurate and detailed repair estimates.
- Produce reports outlining vehicle damage, required parts, labour and repair methods.
- Communicate assessment findings clearly to customers, insurance companies and repair teams.
- Assist customers with enquiries regarding vehicle damage, repair estimates and the repair process.
- Identify and recommend additional repairs or services where appropriate.
- Coordinate with workshop and repair teams to support the timely completion of repairs.
- Monitor repair quality and ensure agreed standards are maintained.
- Maintain accurate and organised records of assessments, estimates and customer communications.
- Handle customer payments and cash transactions accurately when required.
- Keep up to date with automotive repair methods, vehicle technology and relevant industry standards.
Essential Skills and Experience
- A minimum of three years’ experience in vehicle damage assessment, automotive estimating, bodyshop operations or a closely related role.
- Strong mechanical and automotive knowledge.
- Good understanding of vehicle construction, body repair methods and repair processes.
- Experience preparing accurate repair estimates and damage assessment reports.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate documentation.
- Ability to explain repair requirements clearly and professionally.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple assessments efficiently.
- Confidence in recommending additional repairs or services in a professional and customer-focused manner.
- Knowledge of insurance claim procedures and bodyshop workflows.
Desirable Experience
- Experience using vehicle estimating or bodyshop management systems.
- Experience communicating with insurance engineers, claims handlers and accident management companies.
- Experience handling customer payments or cash transactions.

Pay: £45,000.00-£57,000.00 per year
