What to expect

As the Software Asset Management (SAM) Lead, you will join us on an exciting transformation journey, undertaking a strategic and influential role responsible for establishing, governing and continuously improving end-to-end Software Asset Management across the organisation.

You will ensure software assets are effectively managed throughout their lifecycle—from demand, procurement and onboarding through to optimisation, renewal and retirement—delivering commercial value, compliance assurance and operational efficiency.

Working collaboratively with stakeholders across Technology, Procurement, Finance, Risk and wider business teams, you will influence decision-making, embed best practice asset management principles, and drive a culture of accountability and optimisation aligned to our strategic goals.

This role offers a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact by strengthening governance, reducing risk, maximising the value of software investments, and shaping the future of technology asset management across Post Office.

What you’ll need to succeed

To be successful in this role you will be

An enabler who can speak with knowledge and confidence in their subject matter, guiding their team to success.
Excellent influencing and communication skills with the ability to utilise a range of techniques to deliver messages effectively, make an impact, and drive a successful outcome.
Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders and leaders to build support for functional plans and activity.
Acts as an expert advisor, applying advanced knowledge of their own specialism as well as broad knowledge of related areas.
Strong commercial business acumen and ability to make data-driven business decisions.
Demonstrates a strong commitment to upholding the values and principles of Post Office.
A track record of actively promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within all areas of responsibility and in particularly in 2nd line Support functions.
Highly organised with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform under pressure.
