Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Sign Maker to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and experience with various power and hand tools. As a Sign Maker, you will be responsible for creating high-quality signage that meets client specifications while ensuring safety and efficiency in your work.

Duties

Design and fabricate signs using a variety of materials, including vinyl, wood, metal, and plastics.
Operate power tools and hand tools safely and effectively to cut, shape, and assemble sign components.
Perform heavy lifting as required to transport materials and finished products.
Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide recommendations for sign design and placement.
Maintain a clean and organised workspace, ensuring all tools and materials are stored properly.
Conduct quality checks on completed signs to ensure they meet company standards before delivery or installation.
Assist in the installation of signs at various locations as needed.

Requirements

Proven mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
Experience using power tools such as saws, drills, and routers is essential.
Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 25 kg) safely.
Proficiency with hand tools including chisels, hammers, and measuring devices.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
Previous experience in sign making or a related field is advantageous but not mandatory.
