Commercial Supply Chain Manager (Tunstead)

We work with sister companies operating in Germany and the Czech Republic, Ireland, and Scandinavia to serve markets in Europe and the rest of the world.

We are currently looking for a Commercial Supply Chain Manager to join our team. This role is easily commutable from Buxton, Sheffield, Stockport, Chesterfield, Macclesfield, Mansfield and the surrounding areas.

Purpose of the Role

The Commercial Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leading the commercial and transport functions to deliver outstanding customer service, operational excellence, and profitable growth. The role provides leadership across transport, customer account management, and supply chain activities, ensuring the business operates safely, efficiently, and commercially.

Reporting directly to Head of External Sales, Logistics & S&OP, the role will lead the Transport function and Account Managers, driving high performance while maintaining a strong focus on health and safety, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and develop the Transport function and Account Management team to create a high-performing, customer-focused culture.
Ensure health and safety is embedded in every aspect of the operation, demonstrating visible leadership and ensuring full compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Deliver excellent customer service while balancing commercial and operational priorities.
Drive continuous improvement across transport, planning, logistics and customer account management.
Develop strong relationships with key customers, ensuring commercial opportunities are identified and customer retention is maximised.
Work closely with operations, logistics partners and sales teams to optimise supply chain performance and improve service levels.
Manage budgets, KPIs and performance metrics, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Lead contract negotiations and support commercial decision-making where required.
Ensure transport operations remain compliant with all regulatory requirements.
Champion a culture of accountability, collaboration and performance throughout the team.

Experience & Qualifications

Significant management experience in a commercial, logistics or supply chain management role.
Proven experience managing transport, customer service or account management teams.
Demonstrable success in delivering commercial and operational results.
Experience within manufacturing, industrial or heavy industry is desirable.
Strong understanding of transport and supply chain operations.
Relevant transport or logistics qualifications are advantageous.
