Heron Electric is a small family run electronics company established more than 20 years ago. We are based just outside Littlehampton. We design and manufacture irrigation control equipment for use in agriculture, farming, landscape and the leisure markets. We currently employ a team of 9 staff, many of whom have been working with us for more than 9 years.
Ideally we are looking for an individual who has experience of working in the electronic assembly industry, or an industry that requires a high level of hand dexterity and hand eye co-ordination. As a family business we can offer a personal and friendly working environment with a high variety of work.
Key skills:
- All stages of hand assembly of PC boards
- Testing of products through the various stages of development
- Trimming leads
- Detailed quality inspections of populated circuit boards.
- Packaging of orders and despatch.
- Hand soldering of small components preferred but not essential.
- Surface mount experience preferred but not essential.
Essential personal Skills / Attributes:
- Adaptable and flexible in approach to change
- Planning and organising – ability to work to strict deadlines
- Excellent team worker, but also very self-discipline to work effectively alone
- Excellent dexterity and hand eye co-ordination.
- Previous experience of working in the electronics assembly industry preferred but not essential.

Job Type: Ideally we are looking for someone to work from 20 to 30 hours a week but for the right candidate we are happy to be flexible with working hours from 18 hours to 35 hours a week.
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday - flexible start and end times between 7:30am to 6:00pm.
Salary: Negotiable depending upon experience.
