We are looking for an experienced IT Technician to join our growing and busy IT team based in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire.
The business has grown organically and has been built through forging strong and positive relationships with our customers. We provide a variety of IT and Telecommunications products and solutions to our customers and no two days are the same.
Responsibilities will include:
- Provide remote telephone, workshop and email technical support
- Installation and support of Windows Server environments
- Microsoft 365 administration
- Active Directory, Group Policy and DNS management
- Backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Hyper-V and/or VMware virtualisation
- Network troubleshooting (routers, switches, Wi-Fi)
- Customer onsite and remote support
- Cybersecurity best practices and endpoint protection
- Create and modify email accounts, including data migration
- Install and assist with the monitoring of Anti-virus, RMM and back up systems
- Programme VOIP phones and cloud based systems
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- A track record of working as a team and taking ownership and responsibility for building strong relationships with customers
- Able to prioritise and work to deadlines.
- Proven experience of providing IT installation & support and the troubleshooting of hardware and software issues.
- Able to deal with confidential and sensitive information with tact and discretion.
- PC Workstations, Windows OS, Apple OS, MS Server hardware and software
- Cloud Services including Google and Microsoft Office 365
- Knowledge and practical experience of configuring Routers, Firewalls, VPN's, Active Directory, Office 365
- Security & Anti Virus software and Backup Systems
- Network protocols & principles, IPv4, IPv6, LAN’s, WAN’s vLAN’s & WiFi security methods.
Microsoft Server Infrastructure
- Windows Server 2016 / 2019 / 2022 administration
- Active Directory (AD) management
- Group Policy (GPO) design and troubleshooting
- DNS and DHCP configuration and troubleshooting
- File and Print Server management
- NTFS and Share Permissions
- User and computer account management
- Server patching and maintenance
- Server migrations and upgrades
- Performance monitoring and troubleshooting
- Remote Desktop Services (RDS)
- Windows Server security hardening
Virtualisation
- Hyper-V installation, configuration and management
- Virtual machine creation and management
- Virtual networking
- Virtual switch configuration
- VM backups and restores
- Snapshot/checkpoint management
- Understanding of VMware environments would be advantageous
Essential:
- A high standard of written and verbal communication
- Experience with Routers, Switches & WiFi devices, general Networking
- Well developed problem-solving skills
- Pembrokeshire based or willing to relocate
