LIO: our contribution to healthcare
LIO is the intelligent operating platform unifying ambient monitoring, digital observations, and operational management for mental health. Spun out of research at the University of Oxford, our platform combines contactless vital-sign monitoring with facility-wide AI-driven awareness used extensively across UK healthcare providers and with a growing US presence. By providing clinicians with real-time insights, without the need to disturb patients’ sleep, our technology makes a measurable difference on the front line.
If you are early in your technology career and looking for work with a clear purpose, LIO offers a collaborative, down-to-earth environment where your contribution genuinely matters. We care far more about your motivation, curiosity, and alignment with our mission than a long list of specific technical requirements. You will be joining the business at an exciting time as we scale internationally and look to build a mature, repeatable platform deployment process that enables us to roll out our technology safely and efficiently at a global scale.
The role
LIO is looking for a Junior Software Configuration Engineer to join our team deploying the LIO platform into new customer facilities, as well as applying software configuration changes for new features. Day-to-day, you will be using our internally developed software tools to configure our LIO platform software and test that it performs correctly. This person will play a key role in ensuring that customers can transition from install through to live use of the technology as quickly as possible.
This position will help drive our ability to scale the business in the coming year and is specifically designed to enable the successful candidate to grow their career with LIO.
You: the qualities we’re looking for
To be a success in this role you will:
- Be methodical with excellent attention to detail
- Be diligent and able to repeatedly perform the same task with a high degree of accuracy
- Be curious, wanting to investigate areas that may need fixing or improving
- Be engaged with the product and what LIO does – you want to make a difference
- Have the ability to clearly communicate nuances of your work with colleagues and provide accurate and detailed work status updates
- Pragmatic, self-motivated and goal oriented
- Comfortable in a high pressure, fast-moving environment where priorities may change quickly
There are no specific skills requirements for this role though an interest in science and healthcare related technology would be useful. Prior experience of Linux, Git or a terminal environment are desirable.
This role will provide an invaluable insight to anyone thinking about pursuing a career in software testing and deployment, or wider software development. From troubleshooting customer feedback to data organisation, this role will expose you to the fundamentals of working in a fast paced developmental environment. Extensive training and onboarding will be undertaken to bring you up to speed as quickly as possible.
LIO’s platform deployments are growing at pace, requiring an adaptable approach to find the right solution for the current phase of growth. You should be comfortable experimenting and trying new ways of working.
