As a Recovery Worker in Cornwall, you’ll join us on a starting salary of £28,000 per annum (this includes a £1,000 per annum allowance). This will increase each year in line with our pay progression bands.

We are looking for a Recovery Worker to join our Criminal Justice team. Your base will be Truro. As a member of our team you will be supporting people who access the service for help with their drug or alcohol use. This exciting role will also continue to allow us to improve the work we have already developed around supporting clients within the criminal justice system.
The role will include covering the courts, prisons and custody suites on a regular basis; working with people awarded a community sentence where mental health, drugs and/or alcohol have been identified; work closely and collaborate with partner agencies to manage these orders; work directly with individuals released from prison and support multi-agency plans around them.
We are looking for people who have previously worked with individuals in relation to substance misuse or who have equivalent experience working in health, criminal justice or social care settings.
You will have excellent communication and report writing skills, be able to collaboratively work as part of a team and to independently manage a caseload. You may have an awareness of working in a trauma informed way (while this is desirable, training will be provided). Most of all you will demonstrate the enthusiasm to motivate our service users to make the changes they want and need to change their lives for the better..
You will work Full time (37.5 hours) Monday - Friday. A driving licence and access to a vehicle would be essential.

The successful candidate will be working as part of a large integrated drug and alcohol service that supports some of Cornwall's most excluded and disadvantaged people. Working as part of the adult community team, alongside in-house services that include outreach, hospital, clinical, criminal justice, and a residential rehabilitation facility.
You will be highly organised, have excellent communication skills, and be able to manage your time effectively. You will work collaboratively as part of a team to ensure a high-quality service is maintained. Above all, we are looking for someone who is passionate about what we do and has a positive and engaging approach to our clients and key stakeholders.

Have attained ONC/NVQ level 3 or be willing to achieve this within 12 months

Have demonstrable experience of working or volunteering in health, social care, criminal justice, or other specialist setting
