Contract: Permanent

Salary: Grade E, £25,185 per annum (pay award pending)

Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

To start: As soon as possible

Liskeard School & Community College is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed candidate who has maintenance skills and experience. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced caretaker or facilities professional looking for a long-term role within a thriving educational environment. The role is central to ensuring our school provides a safe, well-maintained and welcoming environment for students, staff and the wider community. You will play a key role in maintaining high standards across our buildings and grounds, directly supporting the day-to-day operation of the school.

The role requires someone with a flexible approach and the ability to carry out basic maintenance and caretaking duties across the school. You will be responsible for ensuring that daily tasks relating to the operation, maintenance and cleanliness of the buildings, grounds and equipment are completed effectively. The ability to work within a small team and to work on your own initiative as required are important.

This is a support staff role with SMART Trust, working all year including working time within the school holidays. It comes with the benefits of generous paid annual leave, local government pension, training and development, and a welcoming and supportive working environment.

We are looking for candidates with:

good building/maintenance experience
excellent interpersonal/communication skills
a desire to complete all jobs to the highest of standards
