Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic School Transport Driver to ensure the safe, reliable, and timely transportation of students to and from school. This vital role involves operating school vehicles with professionalism, maintaining excellent communication with students, parents, and school staff, and adhering to all safety and traffic regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, will be retired and willing to undertake training This paid position offers an opportunity to contribute to the community while enjoying a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities

Safely operate school buses or vans along designated routes, ensuring the safety of all passengers at all times
Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to verify mechanical condition and report any issues promptly
Maintain clear communication with school staff, parents, and students regarding schedules or delays
Assist students in boarding and disembarking, ensuring proper behavior and safety protocols are followed
Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations diligently during every journey
Perform routine vehicle maintenance tasks such as checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and cleanliness
Complete accurate logs of trips, mileage, incidents, and vehicle inspections as required

Requirements

Valid clean driving licence.
Will be required to underetake a DBS check
Also required to pass a medical and sit a driving test for Plymouth City Council
Ideal candidate would be retired and looking to top-up their pension by working 2 or 3 hours each weekday mornings and afternoons during School term
Would be driving a people carrier MPV and would be able to take the vehicle home so no travelling to collect the vehicle
All fees for licence application would be paid by us

Pay: From £15.00 per hour
