Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and physically fit Yard Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with materials handling, loading and unloading goods, and maintaining organisation within the yard. This role is vital to ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse and construction-related activities, requiring a proactive attitude and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Operate forklift and other warehouse equipment safely and effectively
- Load and unload materials from lorries and containers
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate documentation
- Handle materials with care, adhering to safety protocols
- Organise yard space to optimise workflow and storage
- Support with warehouse management system data entry and updates
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment and tools
- Assist in general construction tasks as needed, including heavy lifting
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations at all times
- Dealing with customer in a helpful and respectable manor
- Helping load customer vehicles
Experience
- Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
- Familiarity with forklift operation is advantageous
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems is desirable
- Experience in materials handling, shipping & receiving, or construction environments is beneficial
- Mechanical knowledge or background in construction can be an asset
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Proven ability to work as part of a team in a physically demanding setting

Pay: £27,500.00-£30,000.00 per year
