Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Bakery Assistant to join our vibrant team. This role involves supporting the daily operations of our bakery, ensuring the production of high-quality baked goods. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and baking, with a keen eye for safety and cleanliness. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop culinary skills within a busy bakery environment, contributing to the creation of delicious products enjoyed by our customers.

Duties

Assist in food production and preparation, including mixing, shaping, and decorating baked goods
Support the baking process by operating ovens and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bakery workspace in accordance with food safety standards
Prepare ingredients and assist with portioning dough or batter as required
Ensure all baked items meet quality standards before packaging or display
Follow health and safety regulations diligently during all tasks to ensure a safe working environment
Restock ingredients and supplies as needed to maintain smooth bakery operations

Skills

Experience in food production, food preparation, or cooking within a bakery or kitchen setting is highly desirable
Knowledge of baking techniques and culinary practices
Familiarity with food safety protocols and hygiene standards in a commercial environment
Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is advantageous but not essential; willingness to learn is key
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Strong teamwork ethic combined with excellent communication skills
