ATC Floors & Doors is an established family-run company specialising in high-quality timber flooring, doors and restoration work throughout Gloucestershire, Monmouthshire and surrounding areas.
Due to continued growth from our Cheltenham showroom, we are looking for an experienced carpenter to join our fitting team.
This role would suit someone with good second-fix carpentry skills who takes pride in their work and would like to develop further within specialist timber flooring and high-quality residential installations.
Working alongside one of our experienced Project Leads, you will be involved in:
Duties include: (and they will vary from week to week!)
- Sub-Floor preparation
- Installation of solid and engineered timber flooring - plank & herringbone
- Installation of solid and engineered internal doors
- Installation of skirting, architraves and doors liners
- Restoration of timber flooring
- Timber wall and staircase cladding
- Project management working in customer houses - friendly and helpful is how the company is often described
- Adhering to our Health and Safety policy and ensuring your work area is kept clean and tidy
- You need to be positive, have a can do attitude, be reliable and pay attention to detail. Be organised, practical and tidy.
- Clean driving licence. All the above we can offer training
- Own personal hand tools. Job specific tools such as heavy sanders etc are provided.
Previous specialist timber-flooring experience is not essential. Training will be provided to an experienced carpenter with the right attitude and attention to detail.
We are particularly interested in someone who:
- Has good practical carpentry / second-fix experience
- Produces consistently high-quality work
- Is reliable and takes pride in their work
- Is comfortable working in high-quality residential properties
- Communicates professionally with customers and colleagues
- Can work effectively as part of a two-person fitting team
- Has a full UK driving licence
- Has their own basic hand tools
Pay & progression
£150–£170 per day depending on experience and ability.
The higher end of the range would apply to an experienced carpenter capable of working independently and taking increased responsibility.
ATC provides regular ongoing work, specialist equipment and transport to projects.
We are looking for someone who wants to become a long-term member of our fitting team rather than simply move from contract to contract.
