Nurse Analyst - RA1 Team (MLS)
Salary: £35,000pa

Medical Law Service have a fantastic opportunity to join our growing MLS Nurse Team.
Are you an experienced nurse looking to apply your clinical expertise in a dynamic and rewarding legal setting? Medical Law Services is seeking a dedicated Nurse Analyst to join our RA1 team.
Purpose of Role:
To assess the merits of new leads (Lead Vetting) received into thebusiness depending on the initial information / timeline provided by claimant.Liaising with our onboarding team if further information required from theclient to complete an RA1 risk assessment advising on prospects and setting theinitial case plan as to which records are required are who the defendants are. To provide evidence based research and apply clinical knowledge tosupport reasoning for the decision made whether that is to proceed with theclaim or reject the claim. Support the Paginationteam if required by undertaking paginations.

Main Responsibilities:
- Completion of Risk Assessment of initial leads into business - lead vetting

Reviewing claimants version of events and provide a clinical opinion as to the merits of the case

Recognising cases which fall into Fletchers legal exception cases / group action cases and forwarding to the relevant legal team for review.

Requesting further information / documentation relevant to the case to enable the vetting process to be completed if required

Undertaking necessary research in order to understand the medico-legal elements of the case, including any relevant professional guidelines and to support decision made

Good understanding of GDPR to enable identification of such issues / conflicts within the lead
- Discussion of audit feedback with RA1 Manager for continuous improvement / development

Support pagination team by completing pagination as required by Team manager and as such:

Reviewing medical records and any other documentation relevant to the case

Sorting and categorisation of medical records

Preparation of Opinion of Merit (OOM) and chronology to assist the legal team with furthering their investigations and assessment of prospects with a good knowledge surrounding breach of duty and causation

Preparing both light/selective focussed, andupdated paginations in paperless format, utilising suitable IT programmes, including working with evolving AI tools
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years post-qualification experience in NHS practice / clinical setting as a registered nurse

1 -2 years medicolegal / pagination / lead vetting experience

Basic understanding of medical records

Be able to prepare work to a high level of accuracy

Ability to learn and adapt to new working environments

Be able to demonstrate analytical skills

Excellent communication skills and ability to disseminate information with positivity, attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to work within a team both remotely and in person

Be highly motivated, organised, and proactive

Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining high standards

Working knowledge of Audits and interpreting the findings to improve/maintain practice
Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Familiarity ofMicrosoft and other software tools for example Adobe
