Atlas Care homes Ltd are looking for an energetic and committed individual, with experience in residential/Nursing and Young Adult Care, to join our Home in Hebburn
As an Activities Coordinator, you will ensure activity is at the heart of care provided in your home. You will support and enable Service Users’ access to social networks, social activities and personal interests, in accordance with current best practice, according to policy and procedures, agreed standards, legislative requirements, relevant regulations under the direction of the Manager, and within the financial plans agreed from time-to-time.
Your key responsibilities will include, amongst other duties:-
- Encourage innovative methods for the delivery of activities.
- Encourage health promotion within activities strategies.
- Seek opportunities for personal and professional growth.
- To plan, develop and coordinate person centred activities that are tailored to the individual needs of the residents, taking into consideration levels of ability.
- Promote and help embed a culture of person centred care within the Home, supporting the development of the Home as appropriate.
- Develop and maintain relationships with care staff, residents and their friends and family members in order to create life style histories and using these.
- Create ongoing plans in the electronic resident records, ensuring these are updated daily to evidence delivery.
- Ensure each resident has in place an individual weekly schedule personalised and meaningful occupation, engaging the care staff in these activities as appropriate.
- To develop community, friends and family engagement within the Home to enable the sharing of ideas and informat.

Our Ideal candidate will be:
- Experience of developing and delivering plans, using own initiative and working to team objectives
- Ability to engage with older people and young adults who may have a wide range of needs and abilities
- Ability to raise standards through innovation and new ideas
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- IT literate and able to use social media
- Able to maintain confidentiality abiding by the GDPR.
