About us
Renew2U is one of the North East's leading refurbished appliance
specialists. We take graded and returned washing machines, fridges,
dryers and cookers, put them right, and sell them on through eBay,
Amazon, our own website and our Gateshead showroom. We are growing
fast and we are looking for a qualified engineer who can lead the
floor as well as work on it.
The role
This is a hands on job for someone with a white goods background.
You will be diagnosing and repairing appliances alongside the team,
setting the standard for how units are tested and graded, and taking
day to day responsibility for how the warehouse runs and for the
people in it.
What you will be doing
- Leading a small warehouse and workshop team, allocating work and
keeping standards up
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on washing machines,
dryers, fridges, freezers, dishwashers and cookers
- Setting and policing the testing and grading standard so units
leave in the condition we say they are in
- Goods in: booking in deliveries, checking against manifests and
flagging shortages or damage
- Keeping stock accurate and the racking organised, including
regular stock checks
- Advising the customer service team on technical queries, warranty
calls and repeat fault patterns
- Making sure electrical safety, handling and housekeeping are done
properly and in line with health and safety requirements
- Training and supporting less experienced staff on repair and test
procedures
Essential
- Formal white goods appliance engineer training and a recognised
qualification, for example City and Guilds or an equivalent
manufacturer or industry accreditation
- Proven experience diagnosing and repairing domestic appliances
- Confident on your feet and comfortable with regular manual
handling of large appliances
- Organised, with an eye for detail on stock and paperwork
- Able to use basic computer systems for stock and order records
- Reliable and able to set the tone for the rest of the team
Nice to have
- Previous experience leading or supervising a team
- Manufacturer training with brands such as Hisense, Haier, Hoover
or Candy
- Portable appliance testing or electrical safety qualification
- Counterbalance or reach forklift licence
- Experience in refurbishment, returns or graded stock

Hours
Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm, with a one hour unpaid break each day.
45 hours per week.
Pay: £34,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
