Part-Time Farm Shop Butcher
Are you passionate about quality local produce and delivering excellent customer service? We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and reliable person to join our busy butchery team at Exe Valley Farm Shop.
As a family-run farm shop and butchery, we take pride in showcasing the finest home-reared Ruby Red Beef and Lamb from the Exe Valley, alongside a wide range of locally sourced meats and produce.
About the Role
This is a hands-on role within our butchery department, combining traditional butchery skills with outstanding customer service. You will be preparing and presenting high-quality meat products, assisting customers, and helping maintain the high standards our customers expect.
Key Responsibilities
- Serving customers and providing excellent customer service
- Preparing and displaying meat products to a high standard
- Sausage making and other value-added product preparation
- Cutting, trimming and preparing beef, lamb, pork and poultry
- Deboning and portioning a variety of meat cuts
- Maintaining food safety, hygiene and stock control standards
- Assisting with the day-to-day running of the butchery department
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a retail butchery environment is preferred but not essential for the right candidate
- Good knife skills and confidence handling meat products
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work efficiently as part of a team
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Knowledge of food hygiene and food safety practices
