Full job description

Potters is a Berkshire-based multi-million-pound turnover engineering company established in 1964. We provide fine-limit sheet metal fabrications to a variety of industry sectors including electronics, medical, telecommunications, retail and vending. Our strong reputation with our existing client base has been built around offering design support, quality products and high levels of customer service.

We are currently looking for skilled Sheet Metal Workers with experience in Fettling/ Linishing to expand our production team with experience in fine limit and all aspects of Sheet Metal, working hand tools and equipment i.e. Guillotine, linishing, grinding, and finishing to a very high standard.

You will be responsible for:

Cleaning and dressing of welds with a grinder;
Preparing components ready for finishing (powder/ paint/ plating);
Some parts may require a grained finish so being able to blend using different processes e.g. hand grainer tool or simply block sanding to remove weld heat marks;
Polishing/ cleaning of mild steel, aluminium, stainless steel components to a final finish;
Using polishing wheels to achieve a final polished finish.

We are looking for a person who:

Is able to read drawings to understand the requirements;
Is a problem-solver.

Experience: Must have a minimum 1 year experience of linishing material to a high standard.
