37 hours per week over 38 weeks during the school term, plus 5 staff training days per annum. Part-time and flexible working will be considered.

We share our sixth form; this provision is called The Huxlow and Rushden Sixth Form. We are fortunate to have a special relationship with a local secondary school, sharing our expertise not only at KS5 but also at KS4 with cross moderation and quality assurance systems.
We are now looking for an exceptional Teaching Assistant - Attendance EBSA who is compassionate, resilient and skilled in supporting students with emotionally-based school avoidance (EBSA), helping them overcome barriers to attendance and achieve their full potential.

Job Purpose
This role will support students who experience emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA)to improve attendance and engagement. The role will work closely with students, families,and staff to identify barriers, create supportive plans, and monitor progress.
Support will be provided both in-class and out-of-class, helping students re-integrate and thrive in school life.
Responsibilities
1. Listen, understand, empathise and support students, parents and carers, helping themovercome barriers to attendance
2. Work 1:1 or with small groups of pupils identified as experiencing EBSA, providing tailored support and encouragement.
3. Develop appropriate mentoring relationships to engage students, alongside supporting the identification of individual barriers to learning.
4. Support with feedback provided to students and families in relation to progress and achievement
5. Liaise with families to understand individual needs and circumstances affecting attendance.
6. Develop and implement Attendance plans, monitor the success of these plans and make adjustments where necessary
7. Ensure students and families see the benefits of good attendance and raise their aspirations supporting them to work towards their future goals.
8. Challenge signs of disengagement and contribute to specific interventions to encourage re-engagement both with the student and their families
9. Collaborate with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external agencies to develop and implement attendance support plans.
10. Monitor student attendance data, identifying trends and providing early intervention.
11. Support transition and reintegration activities for pupils returning to school after periods of absence.
12. Contribute to whole-school strategies to improve attendance and pupil wellbeing.
13. Support students consistently whilst recognising and responding to individual needs.
14. Promote independence and employ strategies to recognise and reward achievement of self reliance
15. Encourage students to interact and work cooperatively with others and engage students in all activities
16. Promote the inclusion of and acceptance of all students within the school community
17. Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with school safeguarding and data protection policies.
18. Participate in relevant training and professional development.
19. To undertake any other reasonable task within the scope of the post as directed by the designated member of the Senior Leadership Team.
