As an Associate Solicitor within our Private Client team, you will take on a pivotal role in shaping both client outcomes and the future of the department. You will manage a diverse and often complex caseload, act as a trusted adviser to a broad client base and contribute meaningfully to the strategic growth and continued success of the team. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious legal professional to step into a role that offers autonomy and influence.

What you'll be responsible for:

Take ownership of a broad and varied caseload of private client matters, including: wills, estate planning, and wealth preservation strategies; probate and estate administration; trust creation, structuring, and ongoing management; lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection matters.
Deliver clear, pragmatic, and commercially astute legal advice tailored to each client’s circumstances.
Confidently handle complex, high-value, and sensitive matters with minimal supervision.
Build and nurture long-term client relationships, consistently delivering an exceptional standard of client care.
Supervise, mentor, and support the development of junior solicitors, trainees, and support staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Play an active role in business development, including networking, building professional connections, and contributing to marketing initiatives.
Ensure full compliance with regulatory, legal, and professional standards at all times.
Contribute to the strategic direction and growth of the Private Client Department, bringing ideas and insight to drive continuous improvement.
Maintain meticulous file management, time recording, and billing in line with firm policies and procedures.
Undertake additional responsibilities as required by your Line Manager or Director.

What we're looking for:

Qualification as a Solicitor in England & Wales, with significant post-qualification experience (typically 5-8 years PQE) in wills, probate and trusts.
STEP qualification (or working towards) is highly desirable.
A proven track record of independently managing a complex and varied caseload.
Excellent drafting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities, with a high level of attention to detail.
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine commitment to delivering client-focused solutions.
Experience supervising, mentoring, or developing junior team members.
Demonstrable involvement in business development and networking activities.
A high degree of professionalism, integrity, and accountability.
The ability to perform effectively under pressure, managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines.
A collaborative mindset, with a strong team-oriented approach.
