Full job description

Person Specification – Kitchen Staff

Essential requirements

* Previous experience working in a busy commercial kitchen, takeaway or restaurant

* Confident preparing and cooking food independently using set recipes, portion sizes and presentation standards

* Able to prepare seafood, chicken, rice dishes, sides and other made-to-order meals

* Comfortable handling and preparing shellfish, including prawns, lobster, crab and mussels

* Able to follow allergen, cross-contamination and food safety procedures

* Good understanding of food hygiene, temperature control, stock rotation and safe food storage

* Able to accurately read customer order tickets and prepare several orders at the same time

* Able to work quickly during busy periods without compromising portion size or presentation

* Reliable and punctual, with the ability to work scheduled evening and weekend shifts

* Able to complete cleaning, washing-up, food preparation, stock replenishment and closing duties as part of the role

* Comfortable working as part of a small kitchen team where everyone is expected to help across different duties

* Good spoken and written English to understand orders, recipes, allergen information and workplace instructions

* Must have the legal right to work in the UK

Desirable

* Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene certificate

* Experience with seafood, Afro-Caribbean food or similar cuisine

* Experience working with delivery-platform orders such as Uber Eats

* Experience in a fast-paced takeaway or delivery kitchen

Pay: £13.00-£14.55 per hour
