As a Senior IT Technician, you’ll be a key technical point of contact, supporting users and core technology services while working closely with infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud, and wider technology teams. You’ll have the opportunity to improve systems, strengthen IT processes, contribute to important technology projects, and share your knowledge with other team members.
This is a strong next step for someone who wants to move beyond day-to-day support and build toward roles such as IT Infrastructure Manager, Head of IT, Systems Administrator, Infrastructure Engineer, or IT Operations Manager.
Your Opportunity to Make an Impact
- Take ownership of complex Level 2 and Level 3 IT support issues.
- Troubleshoot Windows devices, hardware, software, applications, and connectivity problems.
- Support Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and user access management.
- Manage device deployment, configuration, patching, and endpoint maintenance.
- Diagnose networking issues involving TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, Wi-Fi, and LAN environments.
- Support IT security practices, endpoint protection, access controls, and vulnerability remediation.
- Investigate recurring technical issues and implement long-term improvements.
- Contribute to infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and technology transformation projects.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, asset records, and support procedures.
- Work with external technology providers and internal specialist teams on escalated incidents.
- Help mentor junior IT colleagues and promote strong support standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve automation, reliability, security, and the overall user experience.
What Will Help You Succeed
- 4+ years of experience in IT support, technical support, desktop support, or IT infrastructure.
- Strong hands-on experience with Windows, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Microsoft Entra ID.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and Wi-Fi.
- Experience with endpoint management, software deployment, patching, and device configuration.
- Familiarity with ITSM and ticketing platforms such as ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, or similar tools.
- Understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals, endpoint protection, access management, and patch management.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
- Experience supporting IT projects, system upgrades, migrations, or infrastructure improvements.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A proactive mindset and genuine interest in developing broader infrastructure and technology expertise.
- CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft, Azure, ITIL, or comparable certifications are advantageous.
- Candidates must have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
