Job Title: Electrical Assembly Engineer (Temporary)

Location: Biggleswade (Onsite)
Employment Type: Full-Time Temporary (1–2 Months)
Start Date: Immediate Start Available
Hours: Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week
Shift: 7:00am – 4:00pm (1-hour paid lunch)
Pay: £15.00–£16.00 per hour, depending on experience

The Role

We are looking for an Electrical Assembly Engineer to join our team in Biggleswade on a temporary basis with an immediate start. This role is expected to last 1–2 months, providing cover during a busy period for holidays and sickness.

For the right candidate, there is the potential for this role to become a temporary-to-permanent opportunity.

This is a hands-on role involving the assembly of mechanical and electrical components, wiring, and testing of our CCTV systems. You'll work closely with our engineering and production teams to ensure all products are built to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

Assemble CCTV systems, electronic enclosures, and tower components in line with technical drawings and assembly instructions.
Carry out wiring, crimping, and electrical connections with a high level of quality and attention to safety.
Conduct functional testing and assist with quality assurance checks prior to dispatch.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment.
Work collaboratively with engineers and technicians to improve assembly efficiency and resolve technical issues.
Follow company procedures and contribute to continuous improvement in production processes.
Assist with stock handling, component preparation, and workshop organisation as required.

Essential Requirements

Previous experience working in a workshop or factory environment (electrical, mechanical, or assembly background preferred).
Good practical skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow detailed instructions.
Ability to read and follow assembly instructions, wiring diagrams, and safety procedures.
Basic understanding of hand tools, electrical components, and mechanical fittings.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.

Desirable Skills (Training Provided)

Experience with CCTV systems, electronics, or electrical wiring.
Experience using hand tools, crimping tools, multimeters, and test equipment.
Familiarity with low-voltage systems and cable management.
Forklift licence, PAT testing, or workshop safety training (advantageous but not essential).
Knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes.
