Apprenticeship Central are recruiting an Apprentice Vehicle Damage Assessor to join a busy and supportive automotive team. You’ll gain hands-on experience in parts operations and office administration while working towards a nationally recognised Level 4 qualification. No prior experience is needed, just curiosity, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn!
Apprenticeship Details:
Duration: 24 months
Pay: £8.00 per hour in year 1, rising to the national wage for your age from year 2
Hours: Monday to Friday 07:30-16:30
Training & Support:
- On-site delivery with a training provider coach visiting workplace
- On-the-job guidance from an experienced team and allocated workplace mentor
- Visits from a training provider coach every 6–8 weeks
- Additional support from a RETAIN Manager at Apprenticeship Central

What You’ll Do:
As an Apprentice Vehicle Damage Assessor, you’ll assist and learn across a variety of tasks, including:
- Learn how to inspect vehicles and accurately record damage using manufacturer guidance
- Identify which parts need repairing or replacing and document findings clearly
- Support the creation of clear and accurate repair specifications for the workshop team
- Develop skills in estimating using both manual methods and estimating software
- Learn how repair costs and timescales are calculated in a commercial environment
- Communicate professionally with customers, colleagues, and insurance representatives
- Follow all health, safety, environmental, and recycling procedures at all times
- Keep accurate records and take an active, positive approach to learning and development
Requirements:
- GCSE (or equivalent) English – Grade 4/C or above
- GCSE (or equivalent) Maths – Grade 4/C or above
