Taproom, Retail & Events Manager

About the Role
We’re looking for a talented, energetic and passionate Taproom, Retail & Events Manager to lead and grow our busy taproom, retail and events operation.
This is a hands-on role for someone who loves great beer, delivering brilliant customer experiences and creating a taproom people want to return to. You’ll take ownership of the day-to-day running of the taproom while helping us grow events, food, retail, merchandise and online sales.
You’ll be equally comfortable leading a team, serving customers on a busy weekend, planning an event and finding new ways to drive sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the taproom, including opening and closing
- Manage, motivate and develop the taproom team
- Deliver consistently excellent customer service
- Plan, organise and promote taproom events, brewery tours and private bookings
- Develop the taproom calendar and help create new reasons for customers to visit
- Manage and develop our food offering, ensuring high standards of service, hygiene and efficiency
- Manage beer lines, cellar standards, stock rotation and inventory
- Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, hygiene and customer safety
- Manage ePOS systems and support effective reporting and stock control
- Grow retail sales across the taproom, webshop, merchandise and external events
- Develop and promote brewery merchandise
- Attend and organise relevant retail and promotional events
- Drive company vehicles and tow the brewery horsebox/trailer to external events, including transporting stock, equipment and event materials
- Educate customers about our beers and help bring the brewery and our products to life
- Support marketing and social media activity for the taproom
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve the customer experience, increase footfall and grow revenue
About You
We’re looking for someone with:
- Experience in hospitality, taproom, bar or similar customer-facing environments
- Experience serving and talking confidently about beer
- A genuine passion for craft beer and great hospitality
- Experience with food service and/or kitchen operations
- Previous staff management or supervisory experience
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- The confidence to work independently and take ownership of the operation
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a busy, changing environment
- Good IT skills; experience with websites, e-commerce or ePOS systems is highly desirable
- An understanding of how to organise a hospitality space safely and efficiently
- A full UK driving licence and the ability to drive company vehicles and tow the brewery horsebox/trailer
- Flexibility around working hours, including regular weekend and event work
- A Personal Licence is desirable but not essential

Working Pattern
This is a full-time, permanent, on-site role based at our brewery in Hardley, Hampshire. Regular weekend working and flexibility around events are essential.
The role also involves working away from the taproom at external events, including transporting stock, equipment and event materials where required.

Pay: £27,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
