Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff during shifts, ensuring efficient workflow
- Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and controlling food costs
- Oversee food safety and sanitation practices in compliance with health regulations
- Assist in menu planning and development to enhance culinary offerings
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to uphold quality standards
- Collaborate with restaurant management on shift management and operational improvements
- Ensure timely service delivery during busy periods, especially during catering or banquet events
- Monitor food quality and presentation before serving to guests
Skills
- Extensive culinary experience, including fine dining or catering environments
- Proven supervising or team management experience in a kitchen setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation standards
- Experience with inventory management and control systems
- Skilled in food preparation, cooking techniques, and menu planning
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide team members
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and quality control
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of dietary requirements and accommodations for special diets
- Experience in restaurant or hospitality settings, including restaurant management or food service management is preferred
