The Ravenglass & Eskdale Railwayhas entered an exciting new chapter, we have created an elevated experience where guests can relax, enjoy panoramic views of the fells, and watch our iconic trains arrive and depart while indulging in a beautifully presented afternoon tea.
We are now looking for someone special to lead and take ownership of our First Class Afternoon Tea Service.
About the Role
This is a customer-facing role with real responsibility. You will be the lead presence in our First Class Afternoon Tea area, setting the tone for service, welcoming guests, and ensuring every visit feels memorable, polished, and unhurried.
You will take pride in delivering a consistently high standard of hospitality, creating an experience that reflects both the heritage of the railway and the uniqueness of the setting.
- Average 35 hours per week
- Seasonal, annualised hours contract running until January 2027
- Based at Dalegarth for Boot Station, Boot, Holmrook, Cumbria
What You’ll Be Doing
- Preparing our Afternoon Tea food on site
- Leading the day-to-day delivery of the First Class Afternoon Tea Service
- Providing warm, professional, and attentive table service
- Taking ownership of the customer experience from arrival to departure
- Maintaining high presentation and service standards within the refurbished space
- Acting as an ambassador for the railway and its First Class offering
What We’re Looking For
- Previous waiting-on or hospitality experience is desirable, but not essential
- A professional, calm, and welcoming manner
- A genuine desire to deliver first-class customer experiences
- Pride in your work and attention to detail
- Someone who enjoys responsibility and taking ownership of “their” space
- Someone with their own mode of transport – public transport to the site is not available
