Full job description

Startle is a commercial contemporary art gallery showcasing leading UK and International artists, now with three galleries in Norfolk, our flagship store in Holt along with galleries at Drove Orchards in Thornham, and within Jarrolds in Norwich.

Due to our continued expansion we are seeking an Art Sales Consultant with a passion for luxury sales to join our team, working in our Thornham gallery you will be on hand to provide excellent customer service, having a knowledgeable and engaging sales manner to ensure our sales targets are achieved.

About You

You will have previous sales experience, ideally within a luxury goods environment, and be motivated and enthusiastic, with a real drive to achieve exceptional results.
Your engaging personality will be your greatest asset as you develop loyal relationships with customers through personalised, consultative sales interactions and deliver exceptional customer service.
Willingness to become an expert in your field, always wanting to learn and stay updated on artist facts and knowledge, demonstrating your expertise to clients with confidence and fluency.
Equally as comfortable when speaking to clients over the telephone or via email to sell artwork, along with in client’s own homes with our home consultation service (driving license is desirable) as you will be in a gallery environment.
Although a background in art is beneficial, you do not need to be an expert within the art industry to excel in this position. The successful candidate will go through an industry leading training program to provide you with the tools you need to succeed.

Working 5 days a week over a 5-7 day working pattern on a rota basis. This role will involve working weekends Saturdays and Sundays, we host events and exhibitions along with offering clients the opportunity to view art in their home outside of normal hours, so it’s important to have flexibility for this.

In return we offer an excellent working environment, competitive salary with the opportunity to earn lucrative uncapped commission upon hitting and exceeding your monthly targets, 28 days holiday (including Bank Holidays) plus one additional day for every year of service to a maximum of 33, along with a company pension scheme.

Pay: £27,500.00-£45,000.00 per year
