Who are we
Formed in 1950 the Association has its origins in the NI Civil Service. Since then the organisation has developed and evolved and in 2021 registered as a charity with the Charity Commission NI. Our HQ is located within the Stormont Estate. The organisation is governed by a Council, supported by a CEO and Senior Leadership Team and 35 plus staff.
What we do
We develop and deliver a wide range of health, well-being, sport and leisure services, experiences and a range of training programmes for people representing a wide range of groups including our members and local and wider community.
How we deliver
We deliver our services and activities to people through a network of 34 workplace clubs across Northern Ireland and through 14 sports clubs based at nicssa Stormont.
On a much broader scale we deliver numerous sporting activities and events in conjunction with our key partners in governing bodies of sport. We also deliver through contracts with the NICS, the wider public sector and the private sector a range of training programmes covering mental and physical health, communication and leadership.

The Role: Marketing and Events Officer
The Marketing and Event Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating and executing marketing campaigns and events that promote our Membership, Benefits, Wellbeing & Training Opportunities and services/activities at our HQ. This role requires a blend of creativity, organisational skills, and strategic thinking to effectively manage both marketing initiatives and event logistics. The ideal candidate will have experience in marketing, event planning and a keen eye for detail.
What You’ll Be Doing
General Marketing
· Support the Head of Communications and Marketing with planning, implementing and monitoring marketing campaigns and events
· Be responsible for keeping the website up to date and accurate
· Developing monthly newsletter to keep our members informed of new events and encourage them to avail of their membership benefits
· Create communications both online and print which highlight the services available at our HQ
Social Media
· Set goals to increase brand awareness and engagement across social media channels
· Create and maintain our social media calendar and updating this in line with changing business priorities
· Liaise with general managers to correctly promote specific offerings, promotions and events
· Plan, create and schedule content including visuals and captions
· Monitor and report on performance on social media
Events
· Organise and coordinate marketing of regional events for our members in locations throughout Northern Ireland
· Develop and implement event promotion strategies to maximise attendance and engagement
· Create event-related marketing materials, such as invitations, posters, etc
· Attend venue events to capture content
· Produce post-event evaluation to inform future events
· Assist with in house events as required

You’re digitally confident and ready to learn. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

You bring energy, ideas, and a proactive approach—always looking for ways to improve engagement and impact.
Essential Requirements
· A Third level qualification in marketing, events or related disciple or minimum of three years of marketing and events experience
· Experience of working with Canva, Email Newsletter software (MailChimp, Send in Blue etc)
· Full Clean UK Driving Licence
Desirable
· Experience of using Website software such as WordPress
· Experience of using CRM Etc
