Summary
To batch the concrete mixes in a safe and efficient manner, loading the vehicles and dispatching to the customers site.
Responsibilities
- Ordering materials ensuring stock levels are maintained to complete the planned workload (and sometimes unplanned)
- Completing all checks and balances around the plant for defects, maintanaince, calibrations and general cleanliness
- To keep the plant clean and tidy and free from spillage and residues
- Communicate and implement standards and work practices to ensure application of company policy and procedures and relevant legislation.
- Plan and maximise the utilisation of the mixer fleet, and provide outstanding customer service to all concrete customers.
- To provided advice and support to internal and external customers for the Ready Mixed Concrete business
- Maintain all records and processes for compliance to BSI for Ready Mixed Concrete
- Manage any staff under his/her control in terms of efficiency, profits, safety and service for the R Collard concrete business in line with company policy and procedures.
- Enter all orders and customer requirements into the company electronic system as required.
- Liaising and communicating with various internal departments to arrange material movements. Planning the most efficient route when moving these materials.
Qaulifications
- Sound knowledge of transport operations preferably within the ready-mix concrete environment
- Concrete technology parts 1 and 2 preferable, but a minimum of 5 years’ experience within the ready mixed concrete industry
- Knowledge of bulk haulage, ready-mixed concrete and aggregates
- Good interpersonal skills, numerate and ability to deal with people of different skills and abilities
- Good spoken and written communication skills
- Microsoft packages, exchange, excel. Ability to pick up and use cloud based management systems in particular Practicon batching system, and/or weighsoft 5
- Be an excellent team player, with the ability to work under pressure in a demanding commercial environment

Pay: £14.00-£17.00 per hour
