Join Our Magical Team at Toddlers Inn Nursery School!

Position: Early Years Assistant Room Leader (Level 3 Qualified)

Location: North Chailey (Beautiful rural setting with large carpark)

Hours: Full-Time (Approx. 35–40 hours per week, open 8am – 6pm all year round)

About Us

At Toddlers Inn, we adore outdoor learning and child-led development. Backing onto beautiful open fields, our nursery boasts gorgeous indoor classrooms filled with awe-inspiring provocations, alongside three fantastic outside areas—including two heated yurts, a Forest School, an allotment, and our very own farm school animals! We proudly practice "In the Moment Planning," listening to the children’s interests and using the changing seasons to create a magical, nurturing environment where children can learn and grow at their own pace. Our close-knit, passionate team is spread across three main areas: Little Acorns (our babies), Saplings (our Toddlers), and Mighty Oaks (our 3+ Forest School).

The Role

Are you a dedicated, enthusiastic, and caring Level 3 Practitioner ready to take the next step in your career?

As our Assistant Room Leader, you will have an exciting platform to grow your leadership and management skills while making a profound, positive impact on children's lives. You will assist in organising and supervising daily activities, ensuring a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment where young minds can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspire & Educate: Support the planning and delivery of engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote child-led learning in a natural environment.
Lead with Care: Lead small groups of children, encouraging participation, fostering independence, and ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.
Collaborate & Commend: Maintain accurate records of children's progress and build strong, effective partnerships with parents and carers.
Team Support: Work closely with colleagues and the management team to uphold nursery policies, health and safety standards, and strict safeguarding procedures.

What We Are Looking For

Essential:

Qualifications: Full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education.
Experience: Proven experience working with children in a childcare or nursery setting, with a strong knowledge of early childhood education principles.
Skills: Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written), with the ability to demonstrate leadership qualities within a team.
Passion: A genuine love for natural, outdoor-focused, and child-led education.

Bonus Points if You Have:

A valid driving license (advantageous for joining our minibus adventures!).
A love of animals (beneficial for our brilliant farm school experiences!).
