Job overview

This is an innovative service currently offering assessment and treatment of young people between 14 and 25, this will be transitioning in coming months to a young adult service working with young people from 18 - 25, with a variety of complex mental health needs. We are looking for psychology graduates with previous Assistant Psychologist or relevant clinical experience who are interested in working with young people with emotional and mental health difficulties, who can be compassionate, thoughtful and have the ability to apply psychological theory to their work.

Weekly supervision for this post will be provided by a clinical psychologist within the team. We have good links with the University of East Anglia (UEA) Clinical Psychology Doctorate Programme with previous post holders having been accepted onto the clinical doctorate and regularly have Trainee Clinical Psychologists on placement. These roles are offered with the expectation of supporting candidates who are looking to work towards applying for a clinical doctorate.

“How may you need to differentiate your treatment offer for young people accessing our moderate to severe mental health service to meet their needs?”

Main duties of the job

Within this role the post holder will have the opportunity to help assess, formulate and deliver a range of psychological interventions to young people and families across the age range, as well as opportunities for delivering both group and family interventions. Working as part of the MDT this role will involve working with staff to offer psychologically informed care, develop psychological formulations as well as supporting the wider team with undertaking routine outcome measures and reporting on these outcomes.

Further responsibilities of this post will be conducting reviews alongside Clinical Psychologists within the team, supporting the wider psychological therapies team and supporting with monitoring of clients on waiting lists. There will also be the opportunity to be involved in service evaluation.
