Role Overview and Key Responsibilities

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified or unqualified teacher to teach pupils aged 11–18 across GCSE, Level 2 BTEC and potentially A Level courses, depending on experience. The successful candidate will be an adaptable, reflective practitioner who works collaboratively within a supportive team and undertakes the role of form tutor, working with colleagues and parents to support pupils’ wellbeing and organisation. Alongside teaching, responsibilities include leading one weekly after‑school activity, participating in supervision duties, completing reports and attending parents’ evenings. The school offers a comprehensive induction, ongoing professional development, free lunch and parking, and notes that duties may vary to meet the needs of the school; this is a non‑residential post.

About the department:

The Science Department is centrally located near Main House in a dedicated suite of laboratories. It comprises nine specialist science teachers, supported by three technicians, who work collaboratively to deliver Biology, Chemistry and Physics across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, including GCSE, Level 2 BTEC and A Levels. Small class sizes of up to fifteen enable strong relationships, high‑quality teaching and active participation in the school’s wide extra‑curricular programme. The department combines creative, enthusiastic teaching with a strong pastoral ethos, supporting boys to rebuild confidence, access the curriculum fully and recognise their academic and personal potential.

This role is deemed to be one of working in regulated activity, meaning that the post-holder may expect to come into unsupervised contact with children and young people frequently in the discharge of their duties on-campus.
