About the Role
DiamondAir is undertaking a significant business and technology transformation as part of its growth strategy. Central to this transformation is the implementation of a new operational platform, enhanced systems integration, strengthened data capability and the development of a scalable technology environment to support future growth.
Technology is a critical enabler of customer experience, operational efficiency, financial control and business scalability. We are seeking a Technology Lead to provide the technical leadership required to support this transformation and build the foundations for our future technology function.
Role Purpose
The Head of Technology will act as DiamondAir's senior technology specialist, responsible for technology architecture, systems integration, infrastructure oversight, cybersecurity, technical governance and technology delivery.
This is a hands-on role combining technical expertise with strategic thinking. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Product Development, who owns the business change programme and platform roadmap, to ensure business requirements are translated into secure, scalable and sustainable technology solutions.
The role will provide technical leadership throughout the ongoing platform implementation programme whilst establishing the technology standards, governance and operating framework required to support DiamondAir's continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Transformation & Technical Delivery
- Act as the technical lead for DiamondAir's ongoing platform transformation programme.
- Partner closely with the Head of Product Development, implementation partners and business stakeholders throughout the programme lifecycle.
- Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions and architecture designs.
- Provide technical leadership across platform configuration, integrations, security, data structures and reporting requirements.
- Review and challenge proposed solution designs to ensure scalability, resilience and long-term maintainability.
- Identify and manage technical risks, dependencies and implementation issues.
- Ensure technical governance and architecture standards are maintained throughout implementation.
- Lead technical readiness activities including testing, deployment planning and go-live preparation.
- Establish post-implementation support, monitoring and optimisation processes.
- Own the technical roadmap for future platform enhancements and integrations.
Technology Strategy & Roadmap
- Develop and maintain a technology roadmap aligned to DiamondAir's growth ambitions.
- Define technology standards, principles and architecture frameworks.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities for innovation, automation and business efficiency.
- Provide recommendations on technology investments and build-versus-buy decisions.
- Ensure technology decisions support long-term scalability, resilience and commercial objectives.
Architecture, Systems & Infrastructure
- Own the overall technical architecture across applications, infrastructure, integrations and data.
- Oversee core business systems and ensure they remain secure, stable and scalable.
- Maintain architecture documentation, standards and technical inventories.
- Identify and manage technical debt and system improvement opportunities.
- Ensure infrastructure supports current operational requirements and future business growth.
- Work closely with Managed Service Providers to maintain service reliability and performance.
Cybersecurity, Risk & Compliance
- Develop and maintain DiamondAir's cybersecurity strategy.
- Establish and enforce appropriate security controls, policies and governance.
- Oversee identity and access management processes.
- Manage vulnerability identification and remediation activities.
- Support compliance with GDPR, PCI-DSS and recognised information security standards.
- Develop and test business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
- Coordinate technical incident response and recovery activities as required.
Data, Integration & Reporting Enablement
- Define standards for data management, integrations and system interoperability.
- Ensure reliable integration between internal platforms and external partners.
- Establish API and integration governance standards.
- Promote data quality, consistency and integrity across systems.
- Support the development of business intelligence and reporting capabilities.
- Work closely with the Finance Systems & Reporting Accountant to ensure financial and operational reporting structures are supported by robust technology architecture.
- Contribute to the development of a scalable data strategy that enables future analytics and decision-making capabilities.
Technology Operations & Vendor Management
- Manage relationships with software providers, technology vendors and Managed Service Providers.
- Monitor supplier performance against agreed service levels.
- Review and challenge vendor recommendations, designs and proposed solutions.
- Ensure effective change management and release management processes are in place.
- Support technology procurement and contract review activities.
- Drive continual improvement across the technology estate.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to leverage automation, AI and emerging technologies.
- Lead technology-enabled process improvement initiatives.
- Promote effective use of technology across the organisation.
- Support a culture of innovation, efficiency and continuous improvement.

Hardwear & Equipment
· Own the company-wide hardware strategy, ensuring all technology equipment is fit for purpose, secure, scalable and aligned with DiamondAir’s operational requirements.
· Manage the full hardware lifecycle, including specification, procurement, deployment, maintenance, upgrades, replacement and secure disposal of laptops, desktops, mobile devices, tablets and operational equipment.
· Standardise hardware across the business wherever practical, reducing complexity, support requirements and overall cost of ownership.
· Maintain an accurate hardware asset register, providing visibility of equipment, users, locations, age, warranty status and replacement requirements.
· Develop and manage hardware budgets, ensuring procurement represents value for money and supports the wider three-year technology strategy.
· Ensure business continuity and operational resilience, including appropriate backup equipment and contingency plans for critical operational roles and Airport Concierge teams.
· Oversee hardware security, ensuring devices are appropriately protected, encrypted, patched and managed in line with DiamondAir’s information security and compliance requirements.
· Manage supplier relationships, negotiating competitive pricing, warranties, service agreements and support arrangements with key technology hardware providers.
· Plan proactively for future requirements, ensuring hardware infrastructure can support DiamondAir’s growth, automation, AI adoption and new technology platforms.
Person Specification
Essential Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience in technology leadership, infrastructure, systems architecture, enterprise applications or technical delivery roles.
- Experience supporting major platform implementations, system migrations or transformation programmes.
- Strong understanding of cloud technologies, ideally Microsoft Azure.
- Experience managing third-party technology providers and MSP relationships.
- Experience with systems integrations, APIs and data architecture.
- Good understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and controls.
- Experience translating business requirements into practical technology solutions.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
