The Background:
Due to continued expansion, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sales Ledger Clerk to join our exclusive interiors business which provides branded fabrics, wallpapers and home furnishings to consumers and trade businesses around the world.
The Role:
The Sales Ledger Clerk will play an important role in supporting the Finance function across both businesses, with a particular focus on maintaining an accurate debtors ledger, keeping aged debt up to date and helping ensure customer payments are received on time. You will report directly to the Finance Manager and work closely with colleagues across the business to resolve queries and support strong cash collection.
Key Responsibilities:
· The role will focus on sales ledger, debtor management and credit control, including:
· Maintain the sales ledger, ensuring customer accounts are accurate, complete and up to date.
· Monitor the aged debtors report regularly and take ownership of following up overdue balances.
· Contact customers by phone and email to chase outstanding payments in a professional and timely manner.
· Allocate customer receipts accurately and reconcile customer accounts to ensure balances are correct.
· Investigate and resolve invoice, payment and account queries, working with internal teams where required.
· Raise and post credit notes when required, ensuring appropriate approvals are obtained.
· Support the Finance Manager with debtor reporting, cash collection updates and month-end processes.
· Help improve cash collection by identifying recurring issues, disputed invoices or slow-paying accounts.
· Maintain clear records of customer communication and follow-up actions.
The Ideal Candidate:
This is a great role for someone who is organised, confident speaking to customers and comfortable taking ownership of the sales ledger. You are likely to:

· have experience in sales ledger, credit control, accounts receivable or a similar finance role.
The Basics:
Salary: £28,500 per annum
Holidays: 25 days plus bank holidays

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday with flexibility regarding working hours.
