Job Overview
General & Medical are a long-established company in the provision of medical and other specialist insurance services to professionals, businesses and families both within the UK and internationally. Although providing medical insurance remains a core activity for the Group, we have developed many other services and insurance products available through our divisions and subsidiary companies.

We are seeking a dedicated Claims Advisor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing health insurance claims, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring efficient processing of claims. This role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic environment where organisational skills and attention to detail are highly valued. The Claims Advisor will play a vital part in maintaining client satisfaction and supporting the organisation’s reputation for professionalism and reliability.

Responsibilities

Handle incoming claims enquiries via phone and email, with professionalism and courtesy
Assess and process insurance claims accurately, ensuring all necessary documentation is collected and verified
Liaise with clients, insurers, and third-party service providers to facilitate smooth claim resolution
Maintain detailed records of all claims activities using organisational tools and software
Provide advice and guidance to clients regarding claims procedures and policy coverage
Follow up on outstanding claims to ensure timely resolution
Assist in the preparation of reports related to claims activity for management review
Ensure compliance with organisational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

Experience

Experience in a claims environment is advantageous; additional training will be provided
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional manner
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
