Overview
We are seeking four skilled Assembly Technician's to join our high-performance manufacturing team. This role involves the assembly of advanced composite sandwich structures and integration of complex sub-assemblies into larger airframe structures within a high-pressure production environment.
The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary assembly team, using precision hand tools, industry machinery such as composite ovens and presses, and structural adhesives to produce high-quality, safety-critical components in line with detailed work instructions and quality procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture and assemble composite sandwich structures and complex structural and non-structural sub-assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings, work instructions, and build standards.
- Use hand tools, torque tools, drills, rivet guns, and related equipment competently and safely.
- Apply structural adhesives and sealants to defined processes and specifications.
- Work with complex jigs, fixtures, and tooling to ensure dimensional accuracy and repeatability.
- Perform self-inspection and in-process quality checks and preliminary sign-off in accordance with quality procedures and documentation requirements.
- Record build and inspection data accurately and escalate any non-conformances in line with company procedures.
- Collaborate with Production Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to resolve build issues and improve processes.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in line with H&S and regulatory requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacture and assembly area.
- Support other areas of the business as of when required.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
· At least 5+ years’ experience working with complex composite structures, or other strongly related areas.
- Experience in mechanical or structural assembly in a manufacturing environment.
- Competent use of hand tools and power tools for precision assembly.
- Competent ability to follow technical drawings, work instructions, and build documentation.
- High attention to detail and strong commitment to quality.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure production environment.
- Team player with good communication skills both written and verbal.
Desirable:
- Direct experience working with composite structures or bonded assemblies.
- Aerospace and or Automotive fitting, advanced structures fitting, or complex mechanical assembly experience.
- Experience with riveted structures and aerospace-grade fasteners.
- Experience/ Familiarity in conducting static testing methods of bonded composite structures.
- Familiarity working with complex jigs, fixtures, and precision tooling systems.
- Understanding of aerospace or high-reliability manufacturing quality systems (e.g., AS9100/ISO 9001).

Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 / Apprenticeship in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or equivalent experience (preferred).
- Additional certifications in composite manufacturing or aerospace assembly are advantageous.
