Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pet Groomer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing professional grooming services to a variety of dogs, large and small, ensuring they look and feel their best. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a friendly environment where animal care and customer satisfaction are our top priorities. The Dog Groomer will play a vital role in maintaining the health and wellbeing of our clients' dogs through expert grooming techniques and attentive care.

Responsibilities

Bathing, drying, and brushing animals to prepare them for grooming sessions
Trimming, clipping, and styling coats according to breed standards or customer preferences
Cleaning ears and trimming nails as needed
Ensuring the safety and comfort of animals throughout the grooming process
Maintaining a clean and organised grooming area, including sanitising tools and equipment
Providing excellent customer service by discussing grooming needs and offering advice on pet care
Handling animals gently and confidently

Skills

Previous animal care background is highly desirable, along with a Level 3 Dog Grooming qualification (City & Guilds/iPet etc)
Strong knowledge of different breeds’ grooming requirements and standards
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with dog owners
Ability to handle animals with patience, kindness, and confidence, including those that are anxious or difficult to manage
Physical strength for heavy lifting when handling larger animals or equipment
Organised with attention to detail to ensure high-quality grooming results
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a caring attitude

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £13.00-£16.00 per hour
